Queen’s Baton Relay

In June 2022 the Commonwealth Games commenced in Birmingham and as part of the opening ceremony the Queen’s Baton Relay took a 294-day long journey to every corner of the Commonwealth before it finally reached the Royal Docks. Co-founder of Ruff Sqwad Arts Foundation Ebenezer Ayerh was nominated to be a baton bearer for his outstanding work within Newham over the last 10 years. This momentous occasion also took place during The ‘Knees Up Festival’ where Ebenezer brought Baton on stage to present to The Mayor of Newham Rokhsana Fiaz in Royal Victoria Gardens.
